Ringing in a Brand New Year!

Ringing in a Brand New Year is one of my favorite songs, it's an old R&B classic and it is on my mom's Christmas Classics song CD, so I've listened to it for the past 32 years! I will be ringing in this new year by making a blogging resolution to post more often, to do more projects, and to have at least one giveaway or contest a quarter. Although, I am in a rental I will be attempting to make it more homey this year. My big 2011 home plans include:

• Painting and reupholstering my telephone/gossip bench (This week I relocated it to a lonely wall in my bedroom vs the entry way where it was becoming a stuff magnet.)

• Painting or refinishing my Sprague & Carleton sidetable. It is currently sitting inconspicuosly in a corner (nobody puts Baby in a corner!) so I need to make it pretty so it can become a star in my home.

• Buy a new dining room table. My current one is LITERALLY on it's last leg.

• Recover my dining room chairs with an oilcloth fabric so that my son's cannot totally destroy them, like they have my current ones, you can tell where they've sat vs. where an adult has sat.  

Dana at Made can make anything gorgy!  Can you believe oilcloth can be so pretty?

• Cover my bedside lamps with a fun fabric and make coordinating throw pillows.

• Finally make myself that fabric headboard. I think I might ditch my previous fabric for something more neutral so I can change my bedlinens more often. Something like Centsational Girl's is certainly swoonworthy

• Find a solution for my entry. I need something pretty and organize-y (I know that's not a real word) like this from Pretty Handy Girl.  

So organized, so pretty, so neat!
• Find storage solutions for the kiddie ephemera that seems to consume my lving/dining room! OMG, cleaning up is like herding cats! I need to find a way to just throw things somewhere and it look purty, kinda how H*T does!
